Child 'leashes': Are they helpful or humiliating?
Mon Mar 31, 2014
In reply to: Robert Chapman-1024698 #6.2 Do you have kids? Do you have any idea what you're talking about? You can't always make a toddler understand that there are bad people out there, unless they've already been exposed to someone who has traumatized them, or you traumat …
Baltimore cop saves stray kitten, woos the Internet
Fri Mar 28, 2014
Great story, so I have to give props to the two or three AA Co cops who tried to help some neighborhood teenagers rescue a kitten from a storm drain in our apt complex last year. (They were called in by a concerned neighbor who saw the kids hanging around the drain). They weren't successful, …

Family of slain Colorado student Claire Davis forgives killer
Thu Jan 2, 2014
I could not forgive, or forget, but I could understand (in this case, maybe not in others) and - eventually, I hope - move past the anger and learn to live with the grief. My faith is not in some deity, but in that life just plain isn't fair, that's just the price of living.
